Microbiome Centre
The Marine Biological Association boasts unique and progressive facilities which allow us to explore cellular processes that underpin the unique biology of marine life.
Marine Microbiome Centre of Excellence
The Marine Biological Association was awarded £1.35 million Wolfson Foundation grant toward a new Marine Microbiome Centre of Excellence. This world-class research centre focuses on the vast and diverse microscopic world of the ocean to help understand ocean health and the impacts of climate change.
Mary Parke Bioimaging Centre
The centre contains a range of world-class microscopy equipment that enables us to study marine organisms at subcellular resolution. It is particularly well-equipped for live cell imaging, allowing direct observation of cellular processes such as cell signalling and photosynthesis that underpin the unique biology of marine life.
